ANNA MARIA BAGGER

Anna Maria Bagger began playing the mandolin at an early age and quickly established herself as a highly accomplished young musician within the classical music world. Over the years, she performed internationally as a soloist, chamber musician and orchestral player, developing a deep connection to contemporary music, classical repertoire and collaborative performance.

Her early musical development was strongly shaped by her father, the musician and guitarist Boris Björn Bagger, with whom she worked and performed closely for many years. This collaboration became an important foundation for her artistic understanding of musical expression, sound and interpretation.

Between 2015 and 2019, she received numerous national and international awards, including several first prizes at Jugend musiziert and distinctions at international competitions. During this time, she appeared in concert halls and festivals across Europe and collaborated with ensembles and orchestras such as the Württembergische Philharmonie Reutlingen, the Baden-Badener Philharmoniker, the Mannheimer Philharmoniker and YXUS Ensemble Estonia.

Her musical education was shaped by both classical precision and artistic curiosity, leading her to explore a wide range of musical languages beyond traditional repertoire. Even today, the mandolin remains an important foundation of her artistic identity and compositional thinking.

Rather than seeing the instrument solely within a classical context, Anna Maria is interested in expanding its emotional and sonic possibilities through interdisciplinary and contemporary approaches. Her background as a mandolinist continues to influence her work as a vocalist and songwriter, especially through her sensitivity to musical colour, dynamics and narrative structure.

Alongside her instrumental career, she gradually developed a growing interest in songwriting, voice and artistic direction, eventually leading her towards contemporary vocal music and multidisciplinary performance.
