Anna Maria Bagger (born in 2001, Karlsruhe, Germany) is a vocalist, composer and mandolinist with Estonian roots.
She began the classical piano and violin studies at an early age of five and later joined the children’s choir of her local theatre. At twelve, she discovered the mandolin, an instrument that quickly became the center to her musical adolescence. Between 2015 and 2019, she received several national and international awards at Jugend musiziert and international competitions, including two first prizes. Engagements followed with orchestras such as the Württembergische Philharmonie Reutlingen, the Baden-Badener Philharmoniker, and YXUS Ensemble Estonia. In 2019, she performed the mandolin part of Nino Rota’s Godfather Suite with the Mannheimer Philharmoniker.
In addition to her instrumental work, Anna Maria appears on stage as both singer and actor. She made her debut in the musical Der kleine Tag at the age of ten and later performed as Ronette in Little Shop of Horrors, both at Germany’s largest open-air theatre in Ötigheim (2021). The same year, she advanced to the Top 16 in the television competition Estonian Idol (Eesti otsib Superstaari) while studying Mathematics at the Technical University of Berlin.
Since 2022, Bagger has been studying Jazz/Pop Vocals at the University of Music and Dance Cologne under Anette von Eichel. She has also participated in workshops with Lauren Newton, Aurora Nealand, and Tamara Lukasheva. In 2025, she spent a semester abroad at the Kristiania University College in Oslo, studying Popular Music Performance.
Currently, Bagger focuses on writing and producing her own material, combining her background in classical performance with a contemporary approach to composition and voice.
